

About Our Therapist
Mrs. Bynum specializes in working with children (starting from age 6yrs old), teens and adults in individual or group therapy settings. She offers counseling services for anxiety, depression, trauma, sexuality concerns, and life transitions concerns such as career changes, moving, divorce, etc. She has extensive experience helping clients move forward from past traumas such as sexual assault, domestic violence, etc. Mrs. Bynum utilizes a combination of therapeutic approaches such as Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), Solution-focused therapy, and Motivational Interviewing and mindfulness therapeutic approaches.
Mrs. Bynum’s experience was gained in private practice and out-patient psychiatric facilities. She is an Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and completed her Master of Science degree in Counseling, and a certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Religious Studies and Humanities from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Furthermore, she has taken, and will continue to attend additional continuing education courses in various areas such as, but not limited to, sexuality in counseling, trauma counseling, senior counseling, grief counseling, adolescent and young adult counseling, just to name a few.
Mrs. Bynum sees believes counseling to be her way of being in service to others, and is very passionate about doing so in the most committed and ethical manner.
