Knowing what type of counseling services you need can sometimes be difficult due to challenges articulating thoughts, feelings and determining goals for therapy.  At Cognastics, we want to help you sort through the mental clutter, to gain clarity, set goals, and help you determine what services best fit you. If we are not the best fit or the right service, we will gladly help you search for someone who is. It is our mission to serve you and help you find where you need to be.

What to expect on your first visit...

Your first appointment includes building rapport and collecting historical information. We will review what your current stressors are, if possible, identify goals, and make a treatment plan that will guide your journey. We are here to serve you and help you meet your goals, not tell you how to change.

For couple's and family therapy, the first session is usually with the couple/family together, followed by individual sessions. However, if you are using insurance, this process can change.

Ongoing therapy...

The cadence and longevity of treatment is determined by the goals and the struggle at hand. At times, only a few sessions are required, in other situations, a long term counseling relationship is needed. As counselors we are here to help assist you until you feel you can manage your progress on your own.

Our goal is to help you and your family to find the best versions of yourselves. We do not aim to change who you are or your believe systems. We meet you where you are, follow the goals you create, and assist you to reach those goals within a healthy safe counseling relationship.

We are an outpatient counseling office, and provide services by appointment only. We do not offer emergency services or walk-in appointments. If you have a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to the behavioral health facility of your choice.
